 On December 14th and 15th, Marvila opens the gates for another edition of MARCADO. A joint event marked by a lot of energy in the spaces of Fábrica Moderna, Cerveja Musa, Café com Calma, Dois Corvos, Fábrica Braço de Prata, Underdogs and Luziadas. Craft beer accompanies the market and the smell of mulled wine mingles in the open ateliers of resident artists and guests. Learning to make spoons, monsters and make-believe stamps invade the workshop in the style of workshops for kids and adults! Illustrations and ceramics are sold to the sound of the DJ, derailed embroidery and colored jewellery.  Dançamos ... street up, street down, through Marvila!

WORKSHOPS: 

DAY 14 (Saturday): WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILY HANDS What if we could all talk openly about our fears? This workshop will help kids (and grown-ups) to lose their fears. For 90 minutes, participants will be encouraged to talk about their fears and discover that their fears can turn into protective little monsters that they will take home. By drawing from the shape of a glove, they can build their doll and transform their negative image of a monster into an “accomplice-shield-protector-secret-weapon-light-of-presence”. The mentor of this workshop is: Susana Albiero, graphic designer and creator of “O Meu Monstrinho”, a project that aims to create dolls that scare away the fears of kids and adults. A workshop open to children from 6 years old (under age are accepted in the company of parents or someone responsible). DAY 14 (Saturday): Spoon Carving Workshop with Rival  

During the workshop you will learn to create your own wooden spoon using traditional tools and following artisanal techniques, we will talk about the most suitable types of wood and how to select them correctly. The experience will continue with the production of the spoon, always emphasizing the safety in the handling of the tools. In the end you will have produced a fantastic spoon by your own hands and experiencing a journey to past creation modes. No prior experience in working with wood is required. DAY 15 (Sunday): ACTIVITY FOR CHILDREN Postcards Workshop 

In this workshop we will illustrate a set of postcards using stamps and drawings. We can imagine who we are going to write to, tell a story, create our own stamp, design a seal or put our fingerprint (which is also a stamp) and then offer or mail it!
