A workshop inspired by the Carnation Revolution, where participants use fabric scraps to create a textile carnation through layered shapes and zigzag stitching, exploring textiles as if they were painting.

DETAILS ABOUT THE EVENT
Description / Program:
A workshop inspired by the Carnation Revolution, where participants use fabric scraps to create a textile carnation through layered compositions and zigzag stitching, exploring textiles as if they were painting.
The word will also be explored as a visual element through writing with a sewing machine, drawing words directly onto the fabric or using textile elements.
Each participant will develop a textile composition where image and word intersect, applying their work either onto a textile base (raw fabric) or onto a personal garment.
Each participant will:
• create a fabric carnation (layered composition)
• explore writing with a sewing machine
• develop a personal phrase (e.g. “My freedom is me”)
• integrate all elements into a textile piece or base
Required materials:
• sewing machine (can be provided if needed)
• basic sewing kit (threads, pins, fabric pen)
• white glue or UHU
• garment (optional)
Duration:3 hours
Price:€50 (includes textile materials needed for the projects)
