Beginning Weaving

Every decision we make in our daily lives somehow affects the world around us - the community, the environment and living beings.

Change begins in our thoughts, then at home and finally in our lifestyle.

Weaving is one of the oldest human activities and originated in the East around 3000 years BC.

It came from a basic human need: the protection of the body, especially from the cold.

What we'll be doing:

Each participant will learn to make their own cardboard loom and weave 3 basic stitches. They can choose 3 different patterns and various upcycling materials. At the end, each participant will take home a mini decorative piece.

What we'll learn and try out:

Characteristics of the materials and tools needed

Simple weaving techniques

Composition, patterns and colors

Final finishes

Materials included:

Cardboard, needle, thread, scraps, backing, scissors.

Duration:

2 hours

Maximum number of participants: 10 people
